Lightning Pumps is a manufacturer of slurry/dredge type centrifugal pumps since 1910 in sizes from 10x12 down to 2x3. Dredge type pumps since 1910 in alloys 28% chrome, nihard and class 40 grey.
Rubber and urethane lined slurry pumps since 1951. Cast refractory lined slurry pumps using cast refractory shapes as the lining encased in an alloy iron split shell.
MODEL XL
Lightning Pumps model XL pump is the result of many years of tests and changes in older models, resulting in a pump having all the latest design principles and features for long, trouble-free and economical operation. Designed to take the extreme conditions to which a pump of this type is subjected.
All wearing parts which are exposed to abrasive wear are made of close-grained, 28% chrome, NI-HARD and ductile iron choices. No long delays while the foundry makes up special irons and steels for so-called special cases. Metal is processed by electric induction furnace equipment which produces harder, more wear-resistant metal for products and parts.
MODEL MA
The Lightning Pumps Lightning Model MA medium duty pump is designed to economically handle sand and gravel in large quantities two heads of 100' in or higher. The simple construction enables the operator to easily maintained close internal clearances, yet is rugged enough to withstand the shock of large size solids passing through. With large, clean passages ensuring maximum and continuous delivery, these pumps are used not only for general dredge work but, because of their light weight and compact construction, are also used extensively on reverse circulation rotary well drilling rigs.
MODEL X
The Lightning Pumps 3" and 4" Model X pumps are similar to the Model MA and construction and operation with the exception of the suction gland which has been eliminated in these models. Built not only for the small producers of sand and gravel and contractors of all types but also for industrial purposes including the transfer of tailings. All wearing parts are made of wear-resistant semi steel and other allies including NI-HARD. All parts of the pumps are carried in stock, are machined to close tolerances for quick deliveries and easy installation.
MODEL RU
Lightning Pumps Model RU gives you 5 to 10 times longer wear than a metal lining. Ideal for fine and mash solid such as silica sand, glass sand, coal, classified discharges, and other slurries.
Because of its simplicity of design, lightnings Model RU gives you endurance and performance you have to experience to believe. Note the heavy knee type base casting, oversized shaft and roller bearings. Hex nut mounted on the shaft between bearings is for the purpose of removing impeller from the threaded shaft without dismantling the entire pump. To replace impeller merely remove suction side plate, block impeller from turning and apply a wrench to the hex nut.
MODEL RXA
Lightning Pumps Model RXA is the pump for corrosive/abrasive slurries! Efficient handling of fine-mesh slurry, acids, wet cone separators, chemicals, sand, silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, overflow tailings.
Extensive use of Lightning model RXA ceramic-lined pumps has been made in all phases of the metallurgical and chemical fields due to the inert properties of three separate refractory castings which comprise the lining when exposed to corrosive slags and other reactive materials. As a result is pump has been used successfully and with higher productivity under conditions where ordinary pumps full short.
